Dr Giacomo Ferretti went to Dubai for EXPO 2020 to present the results of the ZeOliva project (MIPAAF). ZeOliva focuses on the research for effective strategies to contrast the olive oil fly, which every year causes huge damage to olive growing in Italy and the Mediterranean regions, and to promote best-practices to reduce the use of fertilisers and the pollution they cause, through the use of natural zeolites in olive growing. ZeOliva took part of the SHARE project, which aimed to present at EXPO 2020 the agri-food model of the Emilia-Romagna region, as an example of a cutting-edge food supply chain, in line with the “farm to fork” vision, for agricultural sustainability.
